About

b. 1986, HK.

Sam is a British artist currently based in Paris. Her work focuses on interpreting human expression – through portraiture, figure drawing, and more recently through new trials with colour and form.

Her most recent paintings break down recognisable features and emotive signs into simple geometric blocks painted onto linen and jute canvases. The aim is to create figures that – despite moving further from the traditional human form – resonate with primal feelings, portrayed with a vivid, rich colour palette.
